Zoopraxographers draws inspiration from Muybridge’s practice of motion study and Los Angeles filmmaker Thom Andersen’s debut documentary, Eadweard Muybridge, Zoopraxographer (1975). The Zoopraxographers seeks to find a place for art in motion and the movement of art, ultimately the artist’s infinite movement.

Based in Los Angeles, it moves up, down, left, right, circularly, oblongly, or extendedly. Zooprax– is the art of movement and the movement of art.

Zoopraxographers is self-funded by two artists. Ticket sales and personal donations from all shows will be used to support the venue and subsidize participating artists.
